Dating is very common and more often than not you are not going to be turned down provided you have asked it in the right way. If you are the lookout for someone special or in need of a social life, a break from the mundane routine, some activity to spice up life and kill boredom and if you feel like meeting new people and making new friends, then online dating sites are your god sent (or rather man made) answers. There are more than a thousand dating sites on the internet which help you pick a partner from their database. All you have to do is just register on their website and the rest is taken care by them. At the time of registration, you may have to fill in some details about yourself like your physical attributes like height, eye and hair colour, hobbies etc which are not very personal information. You may also be required to fill in the qualities which you are looking for in a potential date. These online dating sites have a large database of clients. All they have to do is just match the attributes and you have your date. For all you know you might be just the person Mr X is looking for. Or there is someone there who fits your idea of a perfect man to a T. There are many online dating websites which are area or location specific. It is a lot easier and simpler if your date lives in the same city as you are, if not next door. Long distance dates have a low success rate. Not many people can afford an intercontinental date! This way each of them has had an opportunity to interact with a host of people and decide with whom they click best.
•	Mobile dating: Short messaging services or SMS are used to show interest in the other person. This service is sometimes provided by the mobile operator in some cases.
•	Singles dating: This involves bringing together of singles of opposite sexes with the aim of matchmaking.
•	Virtual Dating: Dating is fixed in the form of games. People design alternate forms of themselves are avatars and seek for similar forms created by other users.

Again, there are some precautions that must be taken when revealing about your self on the online dating website. Not all these sites are genuine. Some of them may be just looking for emails for advertising reasons while some may be potentially dangerous as in, they are no secured sites and any user can have access to your personal information.
